Fire Insurance
This covers loss or damage to property such as buildings, plant & machinery, contents, stock in trade, etc due to fire or lightning. It is also possible to cover loss of rental income or rent payable. The sum insured should represent the new replacement value of the property other than stock in trade which is on cost basis.
The policy may be extended to cover loss or damage caused by the following perils:-
- Explosion
- Earthquake fire and/or shock or volcanic eruption
- Riot, strike and malicious damage
- Storm Tempest
- Flood
- Bursting or overflowing of water tanks apparatus and/or pipes
- Aircraft or other aerial devices and/or articles dropped therefrom
- Impact by road vehicles, horses or cattle
- Subterranean fire
- Bush fire
REQUIREMENTS TO PLACE COVER
- Completed proposal form
- Breakdown of the schedule of items to be covered with latest values
- Payment of premium
- pre insurance survey on selected risks

- Completed claim form
- Stock records
- Purchase documents
- Police abstract (where applicable)
- Repairs invoices
